T
he Northern Kentucky Project

The Northern Kentucky Project has been established to extend the kingdom of God through the planting of Grace and Peace Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Northern Kentucky.  The project is an official church planting effort of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and is associated with the Mission to North America (MNA) Committee of the PCA and the Ohio Valley Presbytery of the PCA.

Grace and Peace Presbyterian Church (PCA)

Our Name – To name something is to describe it and to articulate a purpose and vision for its existence.  The name of this new church reflects two great truths of the gospel.  First, the gospel is good news of God’s grace, his unmerited favor to those who deserve his wrath.  Second, the gospel is good news of God’s peace, the restoration of the relationship between God and man as well as among men. Therefore, the name of the church will serve both as an anchor holding the church to the historic Christian gospel and as an engine propelling the church outward into the community.  In a word, the gospel of God’s grace and peace in Jesus Christ is both historically rooted and contemporarily relevant.

Our MissionGrace and Peace Presbyterian church will exist to call the people of Northern Kentucky to glorify and enjoy the living and true God by proclaiming in word and deed the gospel of God’s grace and peace in Jesus Christ.

Our Vision – We envision being a biblically healthy church whose life (anchored by the past, engaged in the present and oriented toward the future) and ministry (upward in worship; inward in discipleship and fellowship; and outward in mercy, evangelism, and missions) become a significant transforming spiritual, social, and cultural influence in Northern Kentucky and to the world beyond.

Our Message – The message of Grace and Peace Presbyterian Church will be the life-saving and life-changing gospel of God’s grace and peace in Jesus Christ.  The biblical gospel opposes, on the one hand, self-saving “religion” as seen in legalism and moralism, and it opposes, on the other hand, self-ruling “irreligion” as seen in hedonism and relativism.  The gospel is the lifetime message for unbeliever and believer alike, for the gospel is not only the power for initial heart-change but also the power for ongoing life-change.  Consequently, the gospel is the power as well for true and lasting social and cultural change.

Our Distinctives – Grace and Peace Presbyterian Church will be an Evangelical, Presbyterian and Reformed church.  What we mean by “Evangelical” is evangelical in its historical, theological sense meaning “characterized by the gospel.”  What we mean by “Presbyterian” is that our church government is representative, with rule in the church being exercised by spiritually gifted men, elected by the congregation for that purpose.  What we mean by “Reformed” is that our doctrine is the Biblical teaching recovered at the time of the Protestant Reformation and set forth in the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
